It is our greatest desire to accomplish this mission by faithfully
“Proclaiming Good News for Broken People”
It can be intimidating to walk into a new church for the first time so thanks for taking a moment to understand further what to expect when visiting Vertical Life Church for the first time.
What to Expect
We begin our worship service at 10 a.m. which then goes to approximately 11:20-11:30 a.m.
When you arrive in the parking lot there is guest parking on the left as you pull in near the glass doors. If it is full OR you would like to be more incognito, then you may park anywhere you like. As you enter the doors there are greeters to welcome you and also help you navigate our building, which isn’t huge, but nevertheless, they can point you to where you need to go. (If you need to check in a child(ren) scroll down and see below.) Once in the auditorium you may sit anywhere you like. There is coffee and tea available in the auditorium so feel free to grab something to drink.
As our guest, we ask that you take a few minutes to complete our Connection Card (found in our VLC app) as we announce it during the service. Connection Cards are used to help us learn who you are and thank you for your visit. Additionally, we use the Connection Card to pray for you (and your family) during the week by name. Feel free to download our VLC app in your app store. (Search for “VLC Cypress.”) If you prefer not to download the app, a QR code will be displayed during the announcements. It will get you to the Connection Card as well.
Before you visit, please feel free to watch one of our services on our YouTube channel here.
The purpose of our worship service is to lift high the name of Jesus in worship through song, prayer, Scripture reading, and preaching. We sing a combination of old songs and new but lean more contemporary in our music. Our preaching is expository and bold, proclaiming God’s Word, and calling people to live out the truth of what it teaches. We generally preach from the ESV (English Standard Version) but please feel free to bring whatever Bible you use.
A Place for Everyone
At Vertical Life Church we believe the Bible is for all ages. During the 10 a.m. service, we offer K.I.D.S. ministry for children ages birth to 5th grade. Children in the 3rd through 5th grades sit in the service during the singing portion of the service and then are released to go to their classrooms. Children in the nursery through 2nd grade will go directly to their classrooms at 10, or as early as 9:45 a.m. You can check out our K.I.D.S. ministry here.
Student Ministry (6th to 12th graders) meets on most Sundays during the school year from 2-4 p.m. at the church building (please see calendar for exact dates).
Pursue 6:11, our Young Adult Ministry (ages 18-25) meets once a month at the Shamaoun residence. For details, contact Bethany at 734-794-4659.
If you have any questions, please continue to peruse the website or please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call our church office at 832-688-5235.
When is the Best Time to Arrive?
We suggest arriving 15 minutes early to allow for parking, registering your child(ren) in Vertical Life Church K.I.D.S., greeting a few people, and finding a seat. Additionally, coffee and tea are available in the corner of the auditorium.
What Should I Wear?
Casual dress is appropriate at Vertical Life Church. Most people wear anything from jeans to business casual. There really is no dress code at Vertical Life Church. We simply encourage people to be tasteful, modest, and appropriate.
