The time has come for us to re-gather with one another with some different parameters in place for a season and the motive for these new parameters is love for one another. We want to care well for each other and to do so we need to take the appropriate measures.
Please Manage Your Expectations
Church services are not going to be normal or feel normal because with this new freedom comes responsibility for the safety of our members and our public witness. Even though some restrictions have been lightened, a lot of guidance remains in place. It is going to be awkward, inconvenient, and impersonal worshiping together for a little while. That means patience and grace are important during this period.
Attendance is Limited
Due to social distancing and wanting to limit the attendance each Sunday we made the decision to cap the service at 90 people. Since there are limitations you will need to register for the service. Simply go to the church website: verticallifechurch.com and near the top of the page is the link to register.
10 a.m. service
The worship services will be shorter. The doors to the church building will be opened 15 minutes prior to the start of the worship service.
8:30 a.m. Bible Study on Zoom
Ray will continue to teach through the book of Romans at 9 a.m. via Zoom. Please feel free to join Ray at 8:30 a.m. and then attend the 10 a.m. service. The Sunday service will also be livestream on our church Facebook & YouTube page.
Due to this unique time in the life of our church family, we thought it best to love others by wearing masks so please come to the service wearing a mask when you walk through the door and do not take it off throughout your time in the building for the church service. I know this is somewhat inconvenient, but hey, just pretend you’re a surgeon for just over an hour and maybe you can walk in their shoes!
There will be No Handshakes or Hugs
Please greet others with a smile, hello, and wave. Feel free to jump up and down and squeal as you see loved ones that you have not seen in a while, but please refrain from touching one another.
There will be No Children’s Ministry
Children are welcome in the service, but you will need to keep them within arms-length of you at all times. There will be age-appropriate children’s materials available on the table as you enter the auditorium. Please know there is much grace during this period, and if you feel uncomfortable bringing your children or feel that your children will be difficult to wrangle, it is ok to stay home.
Offering Boxes will be Available
Instead of passing an offering bag, we have mounted offering boxes near the doors of the auditorium. Feel free to drop your offering in one of those boxes.
No Drinks or Food Provided
In light of these events we thought it best not to provide food or drinks so please, if you would like coffee or water or whatever, you’ll need to bring it yourself.
There will be No Connection Cards or Sermon Notes
Connection cards and sermon notes are unavailable in the auditorium but are both available in the VLC App. Download it today!
Please, please, please Stay Home if…
– You are sick – If you are sick, or think you might be sick, please help protect others by staying home.
– You are elderly – As COVID-19 has been particularly harmful to those who are elderly, we encourage you to continue to view our services online in order to protect yourself from potentially coming into contact with the virus. Ultimately the decision is yours, but we’d rather you not risk it.
-You are at risk – If you have any pre-existing medical conditions that make you susceptible, we would also encourage you to continue to view our services online until restrictions are further lifted.
-You are uncomfortable – It’s okay if you’re not yet ready to attend services in person. We will continue to broadcast online just like we always have. We would rather you be home and happy than here and miserable.
We are excited, but it’s going feel different. Let’s trust God together in faith, not fear. Prayer, not panic. And response, not retreat.
You are Loved!
