I AM Statements of Jesus

In Jesus' final I AM statement He tells the disciples to abide in Him. This is just after He has told them that He is going away and they cannot follow. Like the disciples, we are commanded to abide in Him even though He is not present. We do this through the Holy Spirit. This is not a suggestion. In fact, Jesus states that we can do nothing that is pleasing to the Father unless we abide.
