“And (Jesus) said to all, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it'” (Luke 9:23-24).

Two Paths. One End: Intentional Discipleship

While Jesus calls us to a very personal, individual commitment to follow him, he never intends for us to follow alone. He calls us to follow him in community as we walk in obedience to over 50 “one another” commands in the scriptures. VLC provides two primary ways to facilitate intentional discipleship: Freedom Group and Small Groups.

SMALL GROUPS

Every disciple needs help. That’s one of the primary reasons God established the church. We are to live out our faith in community with transparency and vulnerability, sharing our lives with one another, discipling, and being discipled, serving, and being served. We need each other.

Ephesians 4:16 describes this beautifully “…the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

As each of us follows Jesus, exercising our spiritual gifts for the good of the body, we are participating with God who is building up his body in love.

Small Group relaunch coming January 2024.

FREEDOM GROUP

A 13-week study for those who find themselves fighting to win the battle with sin, stuck in their spiritual growth, or find themselves in a season of suffering. Some may even be hindered in their spiritual growth because of a personal, catastrophic event that was never dealt with in a biblical way.

If there is a desire to follow Christ with your whole heart but you are not experiencing freedom in your spirit, this study with intensive discipleship modeled at breakout tables might be the help you are looking for.

Taught by Ted Rice and facilitated by mature, gifted men and women to help you in your walk. Contact Ted Rice at Ted@verticallifechurch.com for information.
